As 2025 wraps up, the North Shore continues to shine as one of Kamloops’ most energized and connected neighbourhoods. From new developments and thriving local businesses to beloved community events and seasonal celebrations, this year was a reminder of what makes the North Shore such a vibrant place to live, gather, and grow.

A Year of Building Community

The year started strong on the North Shore, with new businesses opening their doors and neighbourhood projects taking shape. ARPA’s work at Thompson Landing on Royal was a big part of that momentum, as the riverfront community filled quickly with homeowners settling into their new space.

Throughout the year, community connection was at the heart of everything - from the bustling energy of Yew Street Food Hall, where nine unique vendors create a culinary hub to enjoy, to local events that encouraged people to meet their neighbours, stay active, and support small businesses.

Seasonal Moments That Brought Us Together

2025 was filled with events that showcased the North Shore’s vibrant spirit: Spring pop-ups and run clubs, Summer festivals like the Yew Street Block Party, and the 10th annual Overlanders Day, which brought thousands together for food, music, and family fun. Fall carried the momentum forward with cozy afternoons at local cafés, busy hockey nights at McArthur Island, and a growing sense of connection as the weather cooled.

And of course, we couldn’t wrap up the year without the cheeky moment that had everyone laughing - our “Don’t Move to the North Shore” video. A playful reminder of what makes this neighbourhood such a great place to be. Watch the video →

Ending the Year with Community Spirit

The season wrapped with festive celebrations, including Bright Eye Brewing’s 6th anniversary, the North Shore Business Improvement Area’s Community Holiday Festival, and the Search, Recovery & Detection K9s Winter Market, all bringing neighbours together in the best way - over warm drinks, laughter, and shared moments.

From memorable milestones to everyday connections, 2025 on the North Shore was filled with community pride, local flavour, and a sense of belonging that continues to grow.

And that’s a wrap on 2025! We are excited for what’s to come in 2026!
