NEWS RELEASE: Innovation and Business Centre Set for Growth on Kamloops’ North Shore

Kamloops, B.C.: for years, the large two-story building at 348 Tranquille Road has been home to Kamloops Innovation Centre. When Thompson Rivers University (TRU) recently announced that Kamloops Innovation is moving to the TRU campus this fall, the change sparked an opportunity for an expanded role for ARPA Investments (ARPA), the property ownership group of the building on Tranquille Road. The team at ARPA, the developers of many award-winning development projects in Kamloops like The Colours on Spirit Square, Yew Street Food Hall, and The Station on Tranquille, are currently finalizing plans to make some exciting announcements in the coming weeks.

“We have had a great relationship with Kamloops Innovation for years and wish them all the best up at TRU, but we’re also so pleased that the many businesses leasing their space here at 348 Tranquille Road are staying with us, fostering that culture of sharing, collaboration, and innovation which makes this space so special,” said Joshua Knaak, partner with ARPA Investments. “We have been in discussion with a number of businesses and organizations who want to keep the space highly functioning but also amplify the opportunities for businesses to thrive in a centre for business and innovation.”

The building at 348 Tranquille is set to become a part of The Innova on Tranquille, Kamloops’ newest hub for residential and commercial activity with plans for a six-storey apartment building with commercial space on the ground floor, plus a hotel and a space the partners are calling The Innova Business Centre. It’s a project North Shore Business Improvement Association’s executive director Jeremy Heighton is excited to see start moving forward.

“The partners at ARPA have always been thoughtful in their planning and investments that help revitalize and add vibrancy to a neighbourhood. We know this project will be just as impactful,” noted Heighton. “The reimagining of the business and innovation centre and the entire Innova project fits well into our community plan, allowing for businesses to thrive on Kamloops’ North Shore in a walkable, accessible, and livable location.”

More information will be shared in the coming weeks on the business centre, but for now, Knaak encourages prospective businesses interested in commercial space to connect with him at joshua@arpainvestments.ca
